Who writes our pages
Articles, guides, tools and breed pages on helloveta.com are written and edited by the Veta Editorial Team at Soul Surferz LLC, the company that makes the Veta app. Pages carry that team byline, not a named author.
No veterinarian or veterinary technician writes, edits or reviews our pages. We don't claim clinical review, and no page should say or imply otherwise. If you find one that does, tell us and we'll fix it.
What our pages do, and don't do
We explain what vet records, lab results, medications and insurance paperwork mean, and which questions are fair to ask your vet. We don't diagnose, prescribe or set doses. When a page mentions a medication, the dose and plan your vet set for your pet come first.
If your pet may be having an emergency, call your vet or an emergency clinic now. Don't wait on an article.
How we source clinical claims
Our standard is that every clinical claim traces to a named source: the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Merck Veterinary Manual, Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook, peer-reviewed veterinary journals, veterinary school publications, professional bodies such as AAHA, AAFP and WSAVA, and regulators such as the FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine. Insurance pages cite regulators and consumer bodies such as the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and the Federal Trade Commission.
Most pages list their sources at the end. Some older pages name their sources in the text without linking them. If you want the source behind any claim, email us and we'll point you to it or correct the page.
How pages are prepared
We use AI tools to help research and draft pages. Before a page is published it goes through automated checks, including one that flags clinical claims without a cited source and one that checks statements about the Veta app against how the app actually works, and a separate review against these standards.
Examples on our pages, such as a sample lab value or a pet described in a scenario, are illustrations, not real patients or real owners. We don't publish invented testimonials, invented statistics or stories presented as real when they aren't.
Dates and updates
Pages show the date they were published or last updated. When we correct a page, we update that date.
Corrections
Found something wrong? Email support@helloveta.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. We correct confirmed errors on the page.
The app and this site
Pages that mention the Veta app should describe only features it has today. If you spot one that doesn't, tell us. See About Veta for what the app does.
